
Mladejko
Village Mladejko is located 7 km west of the main road Burgas - Malko Tarnovo, 50 km away from Burgas and 32 km from the town. Malko Tarnovo. Near the village is located picturesque scenery of the Strandja Karst - "Caves and springs of the River Mladejko." The place is sygnally - surrounded by the canyons of the rivers Bliznashka and Evrenozovska.
The earliest materials date from the Late Bronze age and the early Iron Age (XVIII - XI century BC). 1 km west of the village is the Big fortress with remains of the largest early Byzantine fortress in Strandja. At its center is located the cave "fortress", there was found pottery from the late Middle Ages (XII-XIV century). During excavations in the fortress they found many materials from late antiquity and evidence that its existence may be associated with the development of metallurgy in the region. Among the material there are coins of Konstantin Great and Theodosius I.
In the clear waters of the River Mladejko you can fish trout. Many caves near the springs of the river are inhabited by numerous bat colonies of rare and protected species.
