Strandja periwinkle tall evergreen shrub with highly branched stems. Leaves are laskavozeleni, large, prodalgovatolantsetni and naked. The stem is smooth gray bark. Flowers are large, lilavorozovi collected on the tops of the branches in chadaresti clusters. It flowers in May and June. Periwinkle is a relict from the time of Tertsiera and preserved in Europe only in the Strandja and the Caucasus.

Strandja periwinkle participate as undergrowth in forests of eastern beech, oak and eastern blagun.Tya is a hydrophilic type, very demanding soil and air humidity.
